 The charming market town of Whitchurch is less than a couple of miles away, filled with artisan shops, cafes, bars & resturants. With our wonderful central location, you can visit the Historic Towns of Chester, Shrewsbury & Nantwich and with a slightly longer drive, get to Liverpool too!

WHITCHURCH

Whitchurch is the northern most market town in Shropshire, inhabited since Roman times and sitting on the borders of south Cheshire and Wales. With plenty of history including St Alkmunds Church. Less than 2 miles from our Holiday Barns. Whitchurch offers SO much from cafes, restaurants, delicatessens, beauty salons, luxury gift shops, including Lorna's House and much, much more. It has a fantastic Makers Market on the first Saturday of each month.  A must for you to visit during your stay with us.

SHREWSBURY

Shrewsbury is scooped in the loop of the River Severn and is a town oozing with history. The birth place of Charles Darwin and with a history dating back to the Saxons and developed mostly by the Tudors, there's no place like Shrewsbury and you notice this as soon as you arrive. Shrewsbury offers a  great day out. Visit Shrewsbury Castle, or its stunning Abbey founded in 1083 or take a tour around the infamous Shrewsbury Prison....

The modern day shopping, cafes, bars and restaurants makes this a great day out for all the family.

CHESTER

Chester has a  bewitching beauty and unique atmosphere making it one of Britain's most popular places to visit. 

The ancient city is a truly breath taking experience. Each chapter of Chester's history is etched into the very fabric of the city. Walk where Roman Legionnaires marched to war, Viking raiders wreaked havoc and Norman invaders conquered Anglo Saxons.

Chester has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, plus a 1000 year old Cathedral with Europe's finest example of medieval carvings - and of course the one and only 700 year rows gallery where shopping, bars and restaurants flourish. An amazing day out.

CHESHIRE OAKS

Cheshire Oaks Retail outlet is an incredible shopping experience, with all the designer clothing shops you could wish for. Filled with an array of places to eat and with play areas for the children to let off some stream, it makes a great day out. Chester Zoo is just down the road and the Blue Planet Aquarium is just around the corner, so for a big group its an ideal day, with something for everyone!!

NANTWICH

Nantwich is a medieval market town with a modern edge.
Situated on the banks of the River Weaver, Nantwich is famous for the medieval timbered buildings dotted around the town. Stroll through the atmospheric streets and visit for bijoux boutiques, antiques dealers and contemporary craft shops.
Nantwich also hosts the International Cheese Awards, a prestigious event that celebrates the finest cheeses known to man.

LIVERPOOL

Liverpool, for those of you who fancy exploring further afield,  is just over an hour away. With it's Docks, Liver Building and of course The Cavern, where the Beetles played , Liverpool is a truly great city to explore. With great shopping and night life, a great day out for all
